Brian K. Pollack, CPA

Partner

“I pride myself on being super hands-on and available. When I say clients can reach me 24/7, it is real — that’s how I’ve built my practice. It’s all about taking care of the client. We’re in a service industry, and I live that.”

Brian K. Pollack, currently a partner, has been with Lanigan Ryan for more than 20 years. In that time, he has worked with business owners to help provide the strategies, tools, and services they need to take the next steps in growth. His practice areas include tax planning and preparation for businesses and individuals, accounting and consulting services, reporting, and accounting system design and installation. Brian serves clients in a variety of industries, including commercial construction, real estate, personal service corporations, and government contracting. About 60–70 percent of his clients are construction contractors, subcontractors, and members of the trades.

Most of Brian’s clients have been able to stay strong throughout the COVID-19 pandemic but still rely on him when they experience concern about overall financial stability and cash flow, or recovering from any bad patch, no matter when or why it occurs. While many of the firm’s clients are quite sophisticated about their finances, some know everything about building a great structure but little about taxes. They all appreciate Brian’s focus on keeping his clients educated and informed, and making information accessible and easy to understand.

New clients often find him through referrals from bankers, lawyers, insurance professionals and existing clients because the quality of his work is known throughout the construction industry and by local service providers.

Brian extends his professional activities to service in several membership organizations. He volunteers his time and expertise with the American Subcontractors Association of Metro Washington, where he served four years on the Board of Directors and currently is Financial Advisor to the Board of Directors.

Brian’s time outside the office combines the personal and the professional. He enjoys spending time with friends and plays a lot of golf, especially with his clients. Brian loves all sports and lives and dies by the Hokie teams. He and his wife Cathy have three young children and are very active in their sports and activities.
