David R. Malcolm, CPA, Retired Partner
David R. Malcolm is a retired partner and co-founder of our firm. With over 30 years working in public accounting, he has extensive income tax and consulting experience in a variety of industries including, Commercial Construction, Not-For-Profit Organizations, Professional Service, Real Estate and Litigation Support Services. His experience includes income tax, businesses succession and estate planning services for business owners. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1976 and is a licensed CPA in Virginia, Maryland and DC.
Dave presents seminars for various groups and is a member of many associations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. He served as a member of the Board of Directors and as the Treasurer of the Associated Builders and Contractors Virginia Chapter for 22 years. He received the “Distinguished Member of the Year” award in 1992 and 2013. He was the Associated Builders and Contractors National Treasurer and a trustee for the National Association’s pension plan for two years. Dave was also a member of the AICPA Tax Division’s Employee Benefits Taxation Committee that prepared the “401(k) Plan Practice Guide” and update. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee to the Virginia Tech Department of Accounting and Information Systems.
When Dave is not helping clients develop their businesses, you’ll find him watching Tech football games or participating in sporting events. He has not met a sport that he does not like.
