Ryan Barnoski, CPA

Partner

The youngest partner at Lanigan Ryan, Ryan Barnoski brings 15 years of experience working with privately-held businesses of all sizes. He focuses his practice on audits, reviews and compilations, business taxation, and advisory and consulting services.

Before joining the firm, Ryan honed his skills at a large national accounting firm where he focused on attestation services—audits, compilations, and reviews, primarily for clients in the construction and government contracting industries.

The common thread throughout Ryan’s career has been his ability to develop close and meaningful relationships with clients, which creates comfort.

“I want them to know that I am not some firm billing them every 6 minutes as soon as I get on the phone.  I want to be viewed as a trusted business advisor and friend with their best interests as my priority. My clients can come to me with any question, small or large, at any time — they know that I am always available to listen to their business concerns and to address any issues early and effectively. My goal is to be their trusted business advisor and to avoid last minute issues and surprises for my clients.”

Ryan’s approach is to put himself in a client’s shoes.

“I ask myself what I would want to hear and do if I were them—what information will help their business grow? I like teaching my clients about what is causing a required tax payment or refund so that they understand why it happened and have the tools to implement helpful changes.”

He is honored to be trusted by third-party users and centers of influence in the industries he works in — “most of my new clients and relationships come from current clients and the people whom they send the financial statement to.” Ryan’s best source of referrals are his clients, colleagues in the organizations he belongs to, and third-party users of financial information. That is proof to his clients that he does good work — and timely work, which is important because so much of tax and financial success is based on timing.

As a trusted business advisor, Ryan works with everything from startups to well-known, established companies, tailoring advice to each entity as their businesses grows.

“I pride myself in providing a wealth of financial knowledge to my clients—keeping them up to speed with information that will help them succeed – whether that means providing them up to date information on the latest PPP loans and walking them through that process, assisting them to find a bookkeeper to help their growing business, or providing advice on the best way to structure their company for tax purposes.”

When not in the office, and not chasing after his two young daughters—Ryan enjoys the outdoors, playing golf, and traveling abroad with his wife. He is an avid Virginia Tech and Baltimore Ravens football fan.
